The last time I flew a C-54, pictured here, was in 1945. I will be 94 in October, and there is something that I would love to try. I will talk to a C-54 pilot and ask himif he would be willing to let me take-off and land the plane. Of course he would be there in case of emergency. I have over 100,000 hrs of flying. I would take off and fly in a patter until it was time to land. I would line up my final approach, leveling off the wheels until they are 5/8 of an inch from the runway. I will hold that altitude by bringing up the nose of the plane as we slow down. When the plane slows down enough not to feel any lift, we will make a perfect touchdown. I would like to have 3 cameras to record this event. 2 on the runway and one in the cockpit. It is just like riding a bike...once you do it...you never forget. Please send me an email and let me know what you think, or evenif you have any suggestions... send email to
