I Traveled Around the World on Wings, Wheels, or Rails

I will tell you for sure, this will Stir the Heart, Cleanse the Mind, and Lift the Spirit

On the way from Calcutta, India to Karachi, I would have about 42 passengers. They were soldiers on their way home after a long tour from a devistating war zone. I wanted to give them somethingto talk about when they got home, other than the war. When I was nearing Agra and the Taj Mahal, I use to desend to about 500ft off the deck and them show them a magnificent monument that a king built for the love of is life. It was such a beautiful site to see.

I would never tell this story before I read the paper that a pilot who was testing a new airplane, out of London England. After I saw his picture then I knew I could tell the same story... We flew our ailplanes so low that we were looking Up to the top of the pyramids. it was almost like landing on that road between them. Later that day, I rode a camel out to look at the pyramids from ground level this time.

My take-off for a flight from Calcutta, India was at the right time that I would see the sunrise just as I was approaching the foothills of the Himalaya Mountains. To my left would be the largest snow-cones you ever saw. A little bit later Mount Everest would be right off my left wing. This is the roughest terrain, the worst weather and the most exciting air route in the world!
